The use of adjective “Macedonian” within the Council of Europe (CE) is not disputable and this is how our chairmanship will be named, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov said after reactions from Athens.

Ivanov made the remarks Wednesday after the meeting with his Albanian counterpart Bamir Topi.

“Macedonia has been admitted to the the Council of Europe by the name Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. However, adjective Macedonian is not disputable within the Council of Europe.

Hence, Macedonian chairmanship is the name under which Macedonia will preside over the Council of Europe (CE) Committee of Ministers.
