Former Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski has told a news conference that Bulgaria’s unpreparedness to recognize a Macedonian people and a Macedonian language raises reserves in Macedonia.
“My reply will not be sincere, if I do not mention the thing creating reserves in Macedonia. Bulgaria’s unpreparedness to recognize a Macedonian people and a Macedonian language raises doubts. Why is this? Why friendly Bulgaria, which recognized our state, which has been helping us all the time – from the independence till now, supports us in the EU and NATO integration without any questions. This is an elementary question for every person – to recognize the feeling of national identity, which is a human right, in compliance with all European norms and standards. I can say that if this issue is solved, and only Bulgaria can solve it by respecting that right, from that moment on there will be no reserves in our bilateral relations,” said Crvenkovski.
