Macedonia with good business environment May 11, 2010

With a competitiveness index of 3.79, Macedonia ranks 5th among East European countries that are not EU member states yet, reads the latest report of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on competitiveness in Europe. According to the report, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands and Luxembourg top the overall ranking.

Bulgaria, which follows Romania, Italy, Poland and Greece, is at the bottom of the ranking. East European non-EU member states that are better ranked than Macedonia are Montenegro, Croatia, Azerbaijan and BH. Macedonia’s advantage is business environment, which is evaluated on par as the EU’s.
