Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu came together with Greek Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas over a luncheon in Greek island of Rhodes.
Later, Davutoglu visited the Hafiz Ahmet Aga Muslim Library.
Following the visit, Davutoglu told reporters, “Turkey and Greece signed 22 agreements on May 15. The agreements constituted a historic milestone in our relations. I believe that such mutual visits will make valuable contributions to the ties between Turkish and Greek peoples.”
He highlighted importance of consolidating the friendly ties between Turkish and Greek peoples, adding, “our target is to make the Aegean a sea of friendship and peace.”
“Politicians have a significant role to play establish friendly relations on sound grounds,” he added.
Davutoglu is expected to return to the popular Turkish resort town of Bodrum later in the day.
