There are announcements for a meeting with UN mediator in the Macedonia-Greece name row Matthew Nimetz with countries’ negotiators Zoran Jolevski and Ademantios Vasilakis, said Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki at a Parliament’s Q&A session on Thursday.
Milososki expects the meeting to be held in the first half of January.
“However, there is no information yet if Athens agrees to such a meeting”, he added.
Furthermore, FM Milososki said UN envoy Nimetz has notified the countries’ representatives on the meeting related to settlement of the dispute over Macedonia’s constitutional name.
“We expect this meeting in the first half of January, but the productive development of the bilateral dialogue also requires good will from both parties”, stated Milososki.
According to him, Republic of Macedonia has presented its readiness and political will to resume dialogue, which is also expected from official Athens.
“We have no informaton yet if the Greek side agrees to the meeting. We expect a positive response, taking into consideration the spirit of good neighborly relations and creation of favorable constructive atmosphere within the UN related to the dispute. I believe that political support from both parties is the most significant, so that Nimetz continues to invest his efforts in the process”, underlined Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki.
