The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Antonio Milošoski, had a meeting today with the Minister of European Affairs of the Italian Republic, Andrea Ronchi, who is staying in our country for a one-day visit.
At the meeting, the two Ministers expressed their mutual satisfaction with the thus-far development and the promotion of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Mr. Milošoski and Mr. Ronchi also discussed issues of mutual interest, particularly exchanging views and opinions on matters concerning the region of Southeast Europe, as well as on matters on the international agenda.
The current developments regarding the accession of the Republic of Macedonia to the European Union and NATO were also discussed at the meeting, leading to the presented expectation that our country could rely on the strong political support by the Italian Republic in the coming period, as well, serving as a certain encouragement to the Republic of Macedonia in the further fulfilment of its strategic commitments. Minister Milošoski underlined the necessity for promptly assigning a date for the start of the accession negotiations with the EU, particularly focusing on the dedication of the Republic of Macedonia in finding a solution to the dispute with Greece regarding our constitutional name.
